We've taken lessons learned from the original Aston House pack and the Aston House Backcountry (AHBC) and created the Aston 3. Like the AHBC, the A3 is a single large interior compartment lined on the suspension side with velcro / pals compatible 6/9 fabric. This gives the maximum flexibility in how you want to "layer" the contents. Further features include:
- ALL zippers are #10 for longevity under field conditions
- front panel loading access
- long zipper on the suspension side offers easy top load access to any items mounted or hung next to the frame
- 2 front access flat zippered pockets - 10x10", 3.5x10"
- Interior is lined with MOLLE cut velcro fabric for attaching either velcro or PALS pouches
- Single interior hang loop
- shoelace style bellowed wand pockets expand for carrying large items, but are capable of "over-compressing" the lower third of the pack down to a 5" depth.
- all 6 straps are removable - minimalist "EDC mode" can be accomplished by using the over-compressed wand pockets and the top straps by themselves
- strap spacing is the same as the Umlindi and will accomodate any of the HPG Pack Pockets including the optional Aston Panel V3. 2 sets of repair buckles are included with each pack for docking a pocket.
